Country And Western
First of all Country is a genre of popular music that originated in Southern America in the 1920s.
Likewise it takes it's roots from the south eastern genre of Folk in America and Western Music.
It seems like it often consists of ballads and dance tunes with generally simple forms and harmonies accompanied by mostly string instruments such as acoustic and electric guitars, Fiddles and Banjo's as well as Harmonicas.
The term country music probably gained popularity in the 1940s in preference to the earlier term Hillbilly music.
Country is even more used today to describe many sub genres.
The origins of country are from the folk music of mostly white American Working Class, who blended popular songs, Irish and Celtic fiddle tunes, traditional ballads, and cowboy songs, and various musical traditions from European immigrant communities.
In 2009 country music was the most listened to rush hour radio genre during the evening commute, and second most popular in the morning commute in America.
Disco And Funk
A Genre of Dance Music is Disco. It containing elements of Soul, Pop, Funk and Salsa.
It certainly achieved popularity during the mid-1970s to the early 1980s.
Disco can probably be seen as a reaction against both the domination of Rock music and the stigmatization of dance music by the Counterculture during this period.
It was as a result popular with both men and women, from many different backgrounds.
Above all Funk is a Genre that originated in the mid-to-late 60s when American and African musicians created a danceable, rhythmic new form of music through a mixture of Jazz, Soul and R 'N' B.
Funk songs are due to an extended vamp on a single chord, distinguishing them from R 'N' B and soul songs, which are built on complex Chord progressions.

4All Disco and Karaoke has an extensive collection of Indie and Alternative music.
Hence this ranges from Folk legends like Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, through to Psychedelic and Alternative Rock groups from late 60's onwards including Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd etc.
Running on through the Decades including 1980's Alternative legends like Smiths, Stone Roses, New Order and Joy Division.

Motown is a record company based in America. It was founded by Berry Gordy as Tamla Records on January 12th 1959, and incorporated as Motown Record Corporation on April 14th 1960, in Detroit.
The name, a combination of motor and town, has also become a nickname for Detroit.
In the 1960s, Motown and its subsidary labels (including Tamla Motown, the brand used outside the US) were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as the Motown Sound.
Hence a style of Soul with a distinct pop influence. During the 1960s, Motown achieved spectacular success for a small record company. 79 records were in the Top Ten of the Hot 100 Billboard record chart between 1960 and 1969.
New Wave And Punk
New wave music is a Genre of pop/rock created in the late 1970s to mid-1980s with ties to Punk Rock.
The wide range of bands categorized under this term has been a source of much confusion and controversy.
The new wave sound of the late 1970s moved away from the smooth blues and rock & roll sounds to create music with a twitchy, agitated feel, choppy rhythm guitars and fast tempos.
Punk rock (or simply punk) is a Genre of Rock Music that developed between 1974 and 1976 in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.
Rooted in Garage Rock, along with other forms of what is now known as Proto-Punk music.
Hence punk rock bands rejected perceived excesses of mainstream 70's rock.
Punk bands typically use short or fast-paced songs, with hard-edged melodies and singing styles, stripped-down instrumentation, and often political Lyrics.

This Genre combines many kinds of music from America, such as Country, Folk, Gospel, Blues and Jazz.
In the early 1950s Rock N Roll developed from a kind of music called Rhythm and Blues performed by black Musicians and Singers.

Northern Soul & Soul
Soul music is a popular Genre that originated in the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
It combines elements of Rhythm and Blues, Jazz and American Gospel Music. Soul music became popular for dancing and listening in the United States; where record labels such as Stax, Atlantic and Motown were influential in the Civil Rights era.
Soul also became popular around the world, directly influencing the music of Africa and Rock Music.
Northern soul is a music and dance movement that emerged independently in The North of England, Midlands, Wales and Scotland.
In the late 60's furthermore from the Mod scene. Northern soul mainly consists of a particular style of American Black Soul music based on the heavy beat and fast tempo of the mid 1960s Motown sound.
Ska and Mod
Ska developed in Jamaica in the 1960s when Prince Buster and Duke Reid formed Sound systems to play American rhythm & blues and then began recording their own songs.
Some suggest ska dates to earlier times, however. In a 1959 interview, Prince Buster stated his great-grandfather played ska in the 1880s.
In the early 1960s, ska was the dominant music genre of Jamaica and was popular with English Mods. Later it became popular with many Skinheads.
The late 1970s mod revival was led by the band Jam, who had adopted a stark mod look and mixed the energy of punk with the sound of 1960s mod bands.
The mod revival was a conscious effort to harken back to an earlier generation in terms of style. In the early 1980s in the UK, a mod revival scene influenced by the original 1960s mod subculture developed.
DJ Sime and his team of Mobile DJ's have an extensive collection of Music from lots of different countries.
